Jump’n Jig is designed to help preschoolers develop coordination, self-esteem & social skills through dance, music and play.
The program is divided into three levels to ensure classes can be modified for children of different ages and gross motor skills development.
All Jump'n Jig licensed studios are run by qualified Irish Dance teachers that have current working with children and police checks, to ensure your child is in good hands.
No matter the age a dancer starts learning their first steps, it’s never easy! Often there is near chaos teaching a new beginners’ class - with kids of various ages, all learning at different rates.
Many dancers start as young as two or three, so how does one develop a structured approach to teaching dance to the new generation?
Enter Fiona Holmes ADCRG. It’s 2010, and a little two-year-old enters her Melbourne classroom. “It became apparent to me, that there are not many toddlers in the world that could learn the over two threes and beginner reel.”
Armed with her Bachelors’ degree in Education, Fiona set out about formulating this structure and has launched it as an exciting and dynamic preschool program called Jump’n Jig.
“I was looking to grow the school, so I accepted her enrolment and begun the very first preschool class. Through years of trial and error and countless little dancers, I wrote the program down and now teachers across the world are jumping onboard to teach Jump’n Jig in their own schools... Whilst it may appear to be an overnight success, Jump’n Jig has been eight years in the making.”
During those eight years, Fiona utilised her knowledge of Irish Dance and paired it with her study of the core principles and techniques of early childhood development and education. “The program is developed around the key developmental milestsones of 2, 3 and 4-year olds, with an emphasis on movement and music. My goal is to engage children in Irish Dancing from as young as possible.”
And the feedback so far? “The most rewarding thing for me are the emails I receive from teachers that have started teaching the program. They LOVE the program and have found a renewed passion for teaching. The children are engaged in every class, and the parents are all delighted with the progress their children are making.”
The program has taken Australia by storm in the seven weeks since its launch, with international expansion well within Fiona’s sights. “We have 23 schools onboard and a further 5 applications from teachers worldwide. My goal was 20 schools in the first 12 months - Jump’n Jig has exceeded my expectations in every way!”
“My plan is to share Irish Dancing with the pre-schoolers of the world. I want every parent looking for an activity for their child, to find a Jump’n Jig class near them. I want every class to be “unreel fun’ and for these pre-schoolers to fall in love with Irish Dancing like we all have.”
“As an Irish Dancer, I know how important it is to have confidence and, for myself, I know looking my absolute best on competition days always gives me that confidence boost to go on stage and give it my all,” explains makeup artist Roisin Redmond.
From a young age, Rosin expressed an interest in makeup, honing and developing her skills along the way. As someone with an exceptional eye, Rosin studied textiles and Graphic Design at the university level. This budding entrepreneur also has a qualification in Business studies. Though it all, Rosin kept her eye on the idea of working toward launching her own make-up service for dancers. The idea is not unusual as there has been a plethora of new entries in the Irish Dancing makeup space. In fact, demand for talented makeup artists is high on Irish Dancing’s competition circuit.
Roisin’s entry into the makeup world has been seamless. She initially worked through her family’s well know feis vendor business, Redmond Rose. Based in the UK, Redmond Rose is an authorized seller of Camelia Rose’s product line and it was here Roisin launched her career as a makeup artist.
“I am grateful for the support and opportunities I have been given from both Camelia Rose and Redmond Rose on my journey, including the opportunity to be one of the makeup artists at the Camelia Rose photo shoot and to work alongside the company at the 2019 Worlds.”
While still working for Redmond Rose, Roisin also has her own standalone Instagram page @makeupbyroisinr. “It is my goal to work in this kind of industry being a full-time makeup artist in either media or theatre and I am embarking further training in September to support this.” Visit @makeupbyroisinr on Instagram or Redmond Rose on Facebook and Instagram for upcoming event schedules and appointment availability.

Taylor dresses Belfast was established by Geraldine Taylor to design and produce bespoke Irish Dance dresses suited to every dancer. Geraldine and her daughters work hard to produce a high standard costume with originality and style.
As owner of the successful Irish dancing business, Embroidery Girl, Siubhan Clark has been creating unique items for the Irish Dance Community for over 10 years. Her latest product The Perfect Point combines her University degree in Sports Medicine, her crafting abilities and her role as an Irish Dance Mom. When her daughter, Maiti, two time W.I.D.A. World Champion, wanted to improve her arch strength, the research began.
Ballet dancers have had the advantage of similar products for decades. The Perfect Point stretches the muscles on the top of the foot while strengthening those in the arch. In just minutes a day, a dancer can achieve stronger, more flexible foot musculature ultimately improving arch and point work. Interest in the Perfect Point has spread worldwide.
Siubhan is excited to introduce Sharon Doherty of Dance Dreams in Northern Ireland as the distributor for The Perfect Point in the UK, Ireland and Europe at www.dancedreamgifts.org.uk, or 'DanceDreams Gifts' on Facebook for more information.
